The Inter Virginia Futsal Academy will offer youth soccer players a comprehensive winter futsal program that includes intensive instruction and training. Academy training sessions require 90 minutes of on-court time and will be held twice a week. The Academy specifically targets travel players who enjoy playing soccer, and are interested in learning to play futsal, improving their technical skills and competing on teams under the Inter Virginia Futsal Academy name. *See more information about Competition Teams below. NOT ALL TEAMS/PLAYERS will be selected to play in competitive tournaments. Extra charges apply.
PROGRAM GOALS:
• To establish the Inter Virginia Futsal Academy as the preeminent youth development and educational training center for youth futsal in the greater DMV area.
• To help travel players achieve their highest potential by utilizing the fast-paced sport of futsal as a development tool to enrich and sharpen technical skills.

For those players who have the required skills and the desire to compete at the highest level, the Inter Virginia Futsal Academy will also offer the opportunity to play in local and regional tournaments. Players will be offered a spot on a competition team at the discretion of the coaches. NOT every player who participates in the Inter Virginia Futsal Academy program will be offered a spot to play in tournaments.
The Inter Virginia Academy competition teams will play 3 to 4 winter tournaments. Please note that there will be additional costs to participate in tournaments (tournament entry fees, player and coach registration and carding fees, coach travel/lodging expenses, etc). These additional fees will be collected by the Club in advance of the event.
Some possible tournaments include:
Futsal Cup – December 13-15, Alexandria, VA ($600/team)
Atlantic Regional Championships – January 10-12, Manheim, PA ($650/team)
Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships – January 25-26, Richmond, VA ($650/team)
Futsal Championship – TBD late January, St. James in Springfield, VA
Northeast Regional Championships – February 2025, Atlantic City, NJ ($750/team)
Nationals – July 2025, Las Vegas (if teams qualify) ($750/team)
